Australian Awards Scholarships 2022: Online Application Deadline 30 May, 2021

The Australia Awards Scholarships 2022, which is a fully-funded scholarship, is now open for online applications until May 30, 2021. It has been developed mainly for the citizens of the Indo-Pacific regions.

This Australian scholarship is administered by the Department of foreign affairs and trade and gives the students living in the selected countries an opportunity to study in the participating Australian Universities along with Technical and Further Education institutions on a full-ride scholarship.

These Australian Awards scholarships 2022 can only be provided by the participating universities and will only be granted to undergraduate or postgraduate programs which are your country’s main areas of development such as, agriculture, health, environmental management, energy, infrastructure and transport, natural resource management, etc.

The Australian Awards Scholarship comes with, the full tuition fees, economy class air travel tickets, a contribution to your living expenses, establishment allowance, health care, Pre-course English fees (if required by the student), an Introductory academic program, fieldwork for research students and academic support during your stay.

Australian Awards Scholarship Eligibility Criteria

First and foremost, to be eligible for the Australian award scholarship, the applying students should be from the following countries in Asia, the Pacific, Africa, and the Middle East.

Whilst most countries have their criteria, generally, applying candidates must:

    • Be between the ages of 18 and 45
    • Submit an English language certificate that meets the requirement
    • Submit their plan for how their education gained in Australia will benefit the development of their country
    • Have at least a bachelor’s degree or equivalent
    • Satisfy all of the requirements of the Department of Home Affairs needed by the Australian Government for the student visa.
    • Be a mid-level or senior-level professional who’s currently employed in their relevant field
    • Not be related, married, or engaged to a person who holds, or is eligible to hold an Australian or New Zealand citizenship or permanent residency.
    • Not be in service to a military personnel
    • Have previously been awarded the Australian Awards Scholarship, unless the living period outside of Australia is double the time they spent in Australia.
    • Not apply for the scholarship at a lower academic level than what they have achieved so far.

Application Process of Australian Awards Scholarships 2022:

First and foremost, before applying, you will need to check whether or not you are eligible for the scholarship by checking your participating country profile. Checking your country’s profile will also let you confirm whether you can apply online or you need a hard copy application. Along with that, make sure to read the Australian Awards Scholarship Policy Handbook for details about the entire process, their requirements, your responsibilities, etc.

When applying online, here are the steps you will need to follow:

    • First of all, visit the Online Australia Scholarship Information System
    • You will have to register online which will require asking you a series of eligibility questions after which you will be given a unique registration number, a username, and a password.
    • Next, you may start filling up your application, keep in mind that this does not need to be submitted immediately. Feel free to write up your rough drafts and submit them when you feel ready.
    • Make sure to attach all of the supporting documents. These include your highest education degree and certificates, academic resume, recommendation letters, employment/ experience resume, an English proficiency certificate, statement of purpose, motivation letter, and a study plan.
    • Keep in mind to complete your online application and hand it in well before the due date as applicants have experienced last-minute server crashes.

In case it is not possible to submit the application online, it can be sent in through mail as well. The details of where to mail in your hard copy application will be available on your participating country’s profile page.
