  • Moisturizing Plumper:

Take one tablespoon of cocoa butter (or coconut oil if you don’t have cocoa butter lying around). Melt it in a microwave or a double boiler. Add to it, a teaspoon of olive oil and 8-10 drops of cinnamon oil and mix. Apply it to your lips. Rinse it off or leave it on and apply makeup over it for a long-lasting plumped look.

  • Lip Plumper using Spices:

Some of the spices that you have lying around in your kitchen pantry have amazing enhancing properties such as cloves, cinnamon, and cayenne. This DIY lip plumper is made using just those ingredients. You will need to mix half a teaspoon of ground cinnamon, and half a teaspoon of ground cloves into a quarter teaspoon of powdered cayenne. To give it a liquefied consistency you need to add one tablespoon of either coconut or almond oil in the dry mixture and mix. Apply it to your lips and massage it. Rinse after 10 minutes with water.

Note: You can substitute cinnamon and cloves with cinnamon oil and clove oil respectively. The quantity of the oils substituted will be a quarter of a teaspoon.

  • Essential Oil Lip Enhancer:

Essential oils such as cinnamon oil can plump lips in seconds because when they are applied to the lips they cause stinging for some seconds. As a result, the blood flow around the lips will increase and this will make your lips look naturally plumped and flushed red.

To make this natural plumper, you will need to mix a teaspoon of coconut oil, half a teaspoon of jojoba oil, and a teaspoon of Vaseline. Then add some drops of cinnamon oil (start with 5 drops as it causes a tingling sensation and everybody’s pain threshold is different). If you can take the sensation, add more drops, apply the mixture to your lips, and keep the rest in an airtight container for later use.

Note: you can also add a pigment powder of your own choice into the mixture or leave it as it is.

  • Beeswax Lip Plumper:

This lip plumper is made by mixing beeswax pastilles into essential oils. This gives a natural enhancement to your lips but is not recommended to be used by pregnant women. Mix 2 teaspoons of melted coconut oil into a teaspoon of beeswax pastilles and 5-10 drops of cinnamon or peppermint essential oil. Mix them thoroughly and wait for a few minutes until all the oil is soaked up by the powder.

If you want, you can add some more oil for a runny consistency or leave it as it is for a scrubby consistency. Apply to your lips for 5 minutes and rinse it off afterward. As the protocol goes, keep the rest of the plumper in a jar/bottle with an airtight lid.

  • Glossy Plumper:

For a plumped look that provides glossiness as well, use this amazing lip plumper recipe. Simply mix 6-7 drops of peppermint oil and 1/8 of a teaspoon of cayenne powder into a lip gloss. Mix it well and apply onto the lips for a plump, glossy, and flushed look.

  • Scrub Plumper:

For people with sensitive skin wanting to use lip plumper, this one is the best as it scrubs the dead skin off the lips, gives them a natural flush, and protects them from any harmful reactions.

Mix a tablespoon of any moisturizing oil with white (or brown) sugar. The consistency can be as runny or as thick as you want but since it is a scrub you don’t want to dilute it with too much oil. Massage the mixture onto the lips using a toothbrush in circular motions for about 5 minutes and rinse with cold water.

  • The Most Powerful Plumper:

For this plump hack, you will need a lip balm and half a teaspoon of cinnamon oil, clove oil, and cayenne powder. Empty the lip balm tube into a double boiler and melt it. Then, add the rest of the ingredients and mix them thoroughly. Put this mixture back into the lip balm tube (or jar). Use as and when you like. This is meant to hydrate the lips and make them voluminous so you can also achieve that Kylie Jenner smile and flushed lips without using lip fillers.

Some Precautions while attempt to making Plump Lips:

  • The recipes with cinnamon leaf essential oil are not to be used by pregnant women as it can have side effects for expecting women.
  • Always, cleanse and scrub your lips before applying the lip plumper. This will take off any excess makeup that may have been left behind. The scrubbing will get rid of the dead skin cells so the plumping effect can also provide nourishment to your lips.
  • Cinnamon oil, while having incredible plumping effects, is known to have caused allergic reactions (even if you never reacted while eating cinnamon/cinnamon products). Take a patch test of the lip balms containing cinnamon oil on your skin before taking the matter to your lips.
  • Cinnamon powder/essential oil, peppermint essential oil and cayenne powder provide fullness to your lips because they irritate them and increase the blood flow. Keep the consistency of these ingredients low if you have a lower pain threshold.
